Slack

Discuss portfolio data where your team already works – comments sync both ways, and you can ask Fundra questions by @-mentioning it.

Portfolio work is a conversation between roles. Finance owns the ledger, the investment team owns the relationship, legal owns the terms – and the questions between them ("is this valuation final?", "did we ever get the signed side letter?") happen in Slack whether or not the data lives there.

The Slack integration brings the two together: comments made in Fundra reach Slack, replies in Slack come back to Fundra, and the thread stays attached to the record it's about.

Two-way sync

Fundra has comments on records – a company, a valuation, a report, a capital account. Connect Slack and those threads sync both ways:

  • A comment in Fundra notifies the people it concerns in Slack.
  • Replying in Slack posts back to the thread in Fundra, attached to the same record.
  • Mentions, reactions and follow-ups stay consistent across both.

The point is that the discussion doesn't detach from its subject. Six months later, the reasoning behind a write-down sits on the valuation rather than in a DM nobody can find. It also means people who live in Slack can take part without changing where they work – which is a large part of why adoption across a firm reaches 50–60% of employees.

Ask Fundra in Slack

New. @-mention Fundra in any channel and ask about your portfolio in plain language – the same capability as the MCP server, available where your team already talks.

@Fundra which of our companies haven't reported KPIs this quarter?
@Fundra what's our current FMV in Fund III, by segment?
@Fundra how has Acme's ARR developed since we invested?

Fundra answers in the thread, querying live data through the same API as everything else. Answers respect the asking user's permissions – someone who can't see confidential company information in Fundra doesn't get it through Slack either.

This turns questions that would otherwise become a request to the finance team into something anyone can self-serve, without leaving the channel.

Set up

Slack is connected per user, so each person controls their own notifications and can reply as themselves.

  1. Go to Settings → Profile in Fundra.
  2. Turn on Slack notifications.
  3. Click Connect Slack and complete the authorisation in the window that opens.

You can disconnect at any time from the same screen. Connecting your account only affects your own notifications and replies – it doesn't grant anyone else access to your Fundra data.

Your workspace admin may need to approve the Fundra app for your Slack workspace the first time someone connects. If authorisation doesn't complete, that's usually why – ask whoever administers Slack to approve it.
